BJ-Gear holds a status as an Authorized Economic Operator. In order to achieve an AEO status BJ-Gear must satisfy criteria such as good tax and compliance history, appropriate security and safety measures, good commercial and transport record-keeping standards and financial solvency.
BJ-Gear has the status of being AEOF certified. AEO is based on the Customs-to-Business partnership introduced by the World Customs Organisation. The programme, which aims to enhance international supply chain security and to facilitate legitimate trade, is open to all supply chain actors. It covers economic operators authorised for customs simplification (AEOC), security and safety (AEOS) or a combination of the two (AEOF).
This quality mark indicates that BJ-Gear’s position in the international supply chain is secure as well as proving our custom controls and procedures are efficient and compliant in accordance with the Danish Tax Authority.
A status as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) gives companies several benefits when the goods are imported into or leaving the customs territory of the Union. Companies that have the AEO status can utilize simplified customs regulations and / or take advantage of security and security related reliefs.
In order to achieve AEO status, a company must satisfy a number of criteria including a good tax and compliance history, appropriate security and safety measures, good commercial and transport record-keeping standards and financial solvency.
Equally, it further cements our position in the international market as it provides us with an enhanced corporate profile, a competitive advantage and increased customer confidence in the way we do business.
The process surrounding an AEO application includes close scrutiny on the whole supply chain of a company including all partners, departments and processes involved all the way from procurement to fulfilment. This process itself offers huge benefits to a company as the intensive, end-to-end look at the business demonstrates its worthiness in being granted the mark of recognition.
Other key advantages of gaining AEO accreditation include a lower risk score in risk analysis systems, priority treatment if physical controls are required, mutual recognition of AEO programmes could ensure faster movement of goods and, in turn, this may result in reduced theft and losses and fewer delayed shipments as containers are less likely to be stopped for customs inspection.
When achieving the AEO status BJ-Gear commits to ensure, that no one enters the premises without registration and supervision during their stay. Also, all doors and gates always have to be locked, and the shipping area has to have permanent staffing. For all companies that do not hold an AEO status, BJ-Gear A/S is required to ask for security declarations before they are allowed onto our premises.
